Oh my Gravy! Candice's Christmas Wish
Posted on 12/20/2018While stories of the Camp Fire have ceased to be the spotlight of media attention, here in Butte County, the affects of the devastating November fire are still felt and seen throughout our community. One radio station, iHeartRadio wanted to bless a Paradise family and we at Shared Travel were invited to participate. As letters flooded in to the studio, one family stood out to the show's hosts, Johnjay and Rich.
Candice and her family were one of thousands who fled the Camp Fire's destructive path. As they were being evacuated, Candice took time not only to make sure her own children were safe, but stopped along the road to make sure others were getting out safe as well. As a member of her faith community, Candice and her three teenage boys continue to bless their church family by looking at ways to practically serve and give gifts to younger children.
When a co-worker nominated Candice for this year's Christmas wish, they said what Candice most needs right now is some R&R, and that is where we are able to participate. iHeartRadio is sending Candice and her family on a relaxing and rejuvenating cruise and we are so grateful we get to help plan this amazing adventure! Our local radio station, Power 102.1 Chico, went and visited Candice and her family with her slogan, "Oh my gravy" already going viral. You can purchase your own #LoveUp shirt with the catchphrase and continue to support our local community.
Stay tuned to see where this family receives the rest they so need and deserve!
